March 9th meeting of ASOM

Watch out for the first crocus -- it signals the end of winter!

Hope to see everyone at the next meeting Monday March 9th! Bring an ATC using last month's fun foam technique to exchange and a 6x6" Winter art piece to exchange. Anything you've been working on for show and tell! We will be doing the Emboss Resist technique on pages50-51 of Bernie Berlin's book. Supplies to bring: brush, acrylic paint, stamps, clear embossing ink pad, clear embossing powder, heat tool, scrap paper or cardstock, craft iron if you have one!

We had some great show and tells at the February meeting: Sandy's paper doll using the Stampington template, Cindy's altered bird book, Carla's birthday metal dolls, Kendall's scenic art work and dominos, Beth's clothespin dolls and Barb Br and Carla's wire wrapped jewelry(bracelets). Thanks to Cindy for the Valentine tags for everyone and also to those who brought chocolate treats!

Please think about putting some of your art work in the Duveneck Art show which will be held on Mother's Day weekend. Let Carla know at the March meeting if you would be interested in sharing the cost of a table at the show.

See you February 9th!

(Hearts by Mary Stanley--Artfiberfest: http://www.teeshaslandofodd.com/fiberfest2008/workshops.html)

Hope to see everyone at the Feb 9th meeting! Bring a 6x6 Winter art piece for exchange, your finished postcard book from last month for show and tell, and the supplies for the fun foam project in Bernie Berlin's book pages 48-49: fun foam, scissors, gel medium, brush, gesso, acrylic paints, quick-drying pigment ink, rubber stamps.

Also check out the Stampington website for tempting templates:

Cindy passed out a copy of the winged doll template at the January meeting for
those interested in taking the challenge. We also liked the dream house
template from Jun/Jul '08. Cindy used it for her January 6x6 winter art piece!
Bring your dolls, houses or any other artwork for show and tell!
